Most families carry their medical history in a plastic bag of loose reports. When it goes missing, tests get repeated and patterns get lost. ABHA, the Ayushman Bharat Health Account, gives you a number that links records across hospitals with your consent. The number is free, and the consent is yours to give or refuse each time.

  • Three things worth knowing before an emergency: blood group, allergies, and any regular medicine. Write them down for every person in the house.
  • Old reports have value. A blood test says far more when it sits beside the same test from three years ago than it does on its own.
