The logistics involve millions of workers and months of preparation. The process moves a country of 1.4 billion people through a single decision.
- Every citizen aged 18 and above has the right to vote. Registration is free and can be done online.
- India was one of the first countries to grant universal adult suffrage from its very first election (1951-52).
