Your Digital Footprint

The trail you cannot erase

The record every online action leaves behind, whether meant or not.

Every search, like, share, and location ping is logged. By the time you are thirteen, thousands of data points are attached to your name. Companies collect this data to predict what you will buy, watch, or click next. The footprint is permanent. Deleting a post removes it from view, not from servers.

  • Try searching your own name online. What you find is a fraction of what exists about you.
  • Before posting anything, ask: would I be comfortable if this existed ten years from now?
