Resilience is not the absence of setback. It is the speed of recovery. Like a muscle, it only builds under strain. A person who has never failed has never built resilience. Shielding someone from all difficulty does not protect them. It removes the conditions the skill needs to grow.
- Research shows resilience is built, not born. It comes from facing difficulty with support, not from avoiding it.
- After a setback, ask: what did I learn? That question turns failure into material.
