"Sugar-free" can still contain sugar. Check for sucrose, fructose, and maltose. They are all sugar under different names. The ingredient list on any package is ordered by weight. Whatever appears first is what you are eating the most of. Read the list, not the front of the box.

  • "No added sugar" and "sugar-free" are not the same thing. The first means no sugar was put in. The second means the product contains none.
  • Compare two brands of the same snack. The ingredient lists will look different.
