The email looks real. The URL is one letter off. The urgency ("your account will be blocked in 24 hours") is built to stop you from thinking. Phishing does not hack computers. It hacks attention. The defence is not technology. It is the habit of pausing before clicking.

  • India reported over 12 lakh cybercrime complaints in 2023. Phishing was the top method.
  • Hover over any link before clicking. The URL shows you what the message tried to hide.
